10 Things To Do With Kids In Detroit During the NFL Draft

The NFL Draft is taking over Detroit April 25th – 27th. If you’re taking the kids downtown for the once-in-a-lifetime experience, be sure to download the Draft Access app and make note of these events/activities below:

Corner Ballpark

Corner Ballpark will serve as the hub of all youth activities at the Draft. Visit Thursday and Friday between 3pm and 10pm or Saturday from 9am to 6pm. Watch and learn from USA Football coaches and NFL players about football and NFL FLAG football, as well as Heads Up tackling during various clinics, competitions, and demonstrations. On-field clinics are open to kids ages 6-14. Daily clinics open on a first-come, first-served basis. Location: 1680 Michigan Ave

Next Level by RollerCade

With two stories of family-friendly fun, get your game on with a variety of new and classic video and interactive games including basketball, air hockey, racing and more ($0.50 – $3.00 per play). Level up to the second floor to enjoy indoor roller skating overlooking Woodward Avenue ($10 skating admission, $3 skate rental). Location: 1201 Woodward Ave

Remix Detroit

Drop a beat in Downtown Detroit at Bedrock’s newest interactive music spot, Remix Detroit (a partnership with Bluewater Technologies). This family-friendly space has been transformed into a FREE interactive and immersive music lab. Stop in and make your own melodies while creating unique light shows by rearranging and altering illuminated spheres and turntables. Location: 1413 Woodward Ave

Get Your Gear

The NFL Shop is taking over 1001 Woodward Ave. Get commenorative custom gear to remember the weekend and maybe score the Detroit Lions Motor City Muscle gear.

Football Fan Fun Run

Meet at Cullen Plaza (1340 Atwater) for a group run/walk in partnership with Detroit Body Garage on Saturday, April 27th. Warm ups begin at 9am, followed by a 2 mile walk/run route on a loop along the Riverfront. After the run, enjoy free rides on the Cullen Family Carousel and refreshments for purchase from the Riverwalk Cafe. All ages welcome (including little ones in strollers), and registration is not required. Location: 1340 Atwater

The People Mover and QLine are offering free rides during The Draft, use it to get from point a to b or simply to see the sites!

Grab A Bite

There will be lots of food trucks to check out but if you want to try and find a table. Go over to an over-the-top sweet shop (with full menu) at Jojo’s Shake Bar or The Sugar Factory. Enjoy the quintessential Detroit experience and take the coney test at American or Lafayette.

NFL Draft Experience

Visit a replica NFL locker room as it appears on gameday, visit the Football Hall of Fame exhibit, get a photo with oversized replicas of all 32 NFL team helmets, see 57 Super Bowl rings up close, get a photo with the Lombardi Trophy and more.
