Remix Detroit

Bedrock Detroit’s latest FREE pop-up activation Remix Detroit is an interactive and immersive music lab. Stop in and make your own melodies while creating unique light shows by rearranging and altering illuminated spheres and turntables. Hours: Thursdays & Fridays from 4pm to 8pm, Saturdays from 12pm to 8pm and Sundays from 12pm to 6pm

Motown Museum

See where Motown got its start and tour Hitsville U.S.A. the home of Berry Gordy and the place where Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations and the Michael Jackson got their start. The Motown Museum is open Wednesday through Sundays. Admission is $20 for adults and $17 for kids.

Detroit Historical Museum

From Aretha Franklin to Madonna to Bob Seger to Alice Cooper, Detroiters have made an impact in every genre of music. The Motor City Music exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum not only shares Detroit’s prominence in rock and pop music, but it explains its influence on gospel, blues, hip-hop, techno and more. It also gives kids a chance to listen to classic hits AND create their own music using technology.

Detroit Riverfront

Reading and Rhythm on the Riverfront is held at Gabriel Richard Park, a large riverfront oasis, where families can enjoy music, storytelling and story time, in person and projected on a large screen. Attendees also receive free snacks and a book. 45 minute sessions are hosted every Thursday + Friday at 10am and 11:30am from July 11th to August 16th and parents must pre-register. Soak up the sun and let the kids be loud and make music at the park. Valade Park on the Detroit Riverfront features a variety of musical instruments along the walking path. It also has a play structure, sandy beach and concessions area. Location: 2670 Atwater St

Detroit Symphony Orchestra

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is a cultural institution that isn’t just a fun date night.
