Keep cabin fever at bay and your little climbers happy at these cool metro Detroit destinations.
Troy Gymnastics
The Munchkin Ropes Course at Troy Gymnastics is the perfect indoor activity – even timid climbers will race through the course by the end! The Munchkin course is perfect for 2-7 year olds (or 48” tall), because they need to be able to move their harness through the apparatus (but parents can easily stand besides them and help out, if needed…or give them an extra push down the zip line)! For those with bigger kids, Troy Gymnastics also has a High Ropes Course for ages 8+ (or over 54” tall).
Tree Runner
TreeRunner West Bloomfield Adventure Park is a premier aerial challenge forest park in Southeast Michigan. With over 250 suspended challenge obstacles including more than 45 zip lines, three difficulty levels, and 14 different aerial trails, there is plenty to explore! Closed during the winter months, this is a destination to put on your list beginning spring.
DYNO Detroit
Head to Eastern Market and check out Detroit’s first and only climbing gym – DYNO Detroit. Children as young as 5 years old can learn to climb the colorfully and complex courses. Walls range from 12 to 45 ft high are expertly designed to encourage and challenge all levels of climbers.
