Find trails, chase waterfalls, and play the day away at Cascade Park in Elyria Ohio.
We recently spent the day in Ohio and stumbled upon the coolest park! Cascade Park is located about 2ish hours away from Metro Detroit and it’s definitely worth a stop if your headed that way. It hosts a great rubber matted playground complete with a mini water area inside the park. So make sure you pack a swim suit! A mommy and me swing, cute play structure, awesome hill for rolling down or sledding, nature center, bathrooms, little free library and so much more! We spent the entire morning here hiking and didn’t even complete the trails.
If you want to see the waterfalls make sure to check out the west waterfall trail. Pack your walking shoes! The hike is uphill both ways (Yes, we’re serious) But well worth the view! The rock formations are stunning, but be sure to watch your footing! There are lots of roots sticking up on the trail. If you head to the nature center take the bridge across the river to find another fully shaded play structure!
