Spring Break Camp

When school lets out for spring break, the YMCA offers full-day break camps for elementary and youth ages approximately 5–14 (varies slightly by location) with activities, games, arts, outdoor play, and care from early morning to early evening. Camps are offered at these YMCA locations March 30th – April 3rd and per day rate begins at $59 with discounts available.

Summer Day Camp

During the summer months, the YMCA’s Summer Day Camp programs provide a structured, full-day experience for kids in grades typically kindergarten through 8th (often ages 5–14) with weekly themes, skill-building activities, outdoor fun, and positive mentors. Campers return home each evening with new memories and friends.

  • June 22nd – 26th: Back in Time – Travel through the decades with themed games, music, and crafts from the past. From the roaring ‘20s to the funky ‘80s, it’s a time-traveling adventure!
  • June 29th – July 3rd: Red, White, & Blue – Celebrate all things USA with patriotic games, festive crafts, and star-spangled fun. This week ends with a bang—just in time for Independence Day.
  • July 6th – 10th: Animal Kingdom – Explore the wild side of camp with animal-themed games, crafts, and adventures. From the jungle to the ocean, we’ll celebrate creatures big and small!
  • July 13th – 17th: Color Wars – Teams will face off in friendly competition through games, relays, and challenges. Show your spirit and let the best team win!
  • July 20th – 24th: Wacky Water – Stay cool at camp with water balloons, splash games, and aquatic adventures all week long!
  • July 27th – 31rd: Wild Holidays – Why wait for December or October? Celebrate a different holiday each day with themed games, crafts, and activities from all seasons throughout the year.
  • August 3rd – 7th: Treasure Hunter – Join the quest for hidden treasures with scavenger hunts, maps, and adventure games. Sharpen your skills to unlock the week’s ultimate prize!
  • August 10th – 14th: Spirit Week – From crazy costumes to camp chants, we’ll pack the week with energy and enthusiasm. Get ready to show your camp pride every single day!
  • August 17th – 21st: Best of Camp Week – All your favorite games, crafts, and activities from the summer packed into one amazing week. It’s the ultimate camp greatest hits collection!
  • August 24th – 28th: Goodbye Summer – Celebrate the final week of camp with the activities you love most. We’ll wrap up summer with smiles, laughter, and memories to last until next year.

Overnight Camps — Classic Summer Adventures

For campers ready to unplug and explore nature, the YMCA operates two historic overnight camps, rates range from $299 to $369 per week.

YMCA Camp Ohiyesa

Situated on the shores of Fish Lake in Holly, Michigan, Ohiyesa offers both day and overnight camp experiences for youth. Day Camp education is typically available for younger campers, and overnight camp sessions are available for ages approximately 8–13, offering themed weeks full of canoeing, horseback riding, climbing, arts, and team challenges.

  • Overnight Camp & Mini Sessions: Multiple sessions run throughout June – August (specific week dates vary; mini-camp options exist for younger first-time campers).

YMCA Camp Nissokone

Located in Oscoda, this classic northern Michigan camp has long been a favorite for outdoor adventure, leadership development, and lakeside fun. Overnight sessions at Nissokone typically serve campers ages 7–18 with a range of experience levels.

The YMCA also hosts Family Camp weekends at Camp Nissokone, where families can unplug and enjoy many outdoor activities together. These extended-stay experiences typically take place over Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and let families share cabins, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, zip-lining, campfires, and more — all in a supportive and relaxing setting.
