The Yankee Air Museum is now the Michigan Flight Museum and it’s the perfect excuse to bring your future pilot on a family field trip.

When you arrive at the Michigan Flight Museum you get a personal tour guide. They will teach you all about planes, how they helped in the wars, how the planes were made and so, much more. From the very first plane sent to war all the way up to the planes of today. They are truly knowledgeable and love to answer any questions you have. Listen to the tour guides tell the story of how Rosie The Riveter drove women into the workforce and how the war shaped the lives of those who lived through it. Learn how the airplanes have changed and grown over the years, to become the planes of today.

Climb into a dismantled plane and try your very own hand at flying, or try to navigate a simulated flight. Do not forget to check out the plane they pulled from the bottom of Lake Michigan! Be sure to check out their upcoming events such as their open cockpit days, where you can climb up and see into a real plane!

The Michigan Flight Museum is open Tuesday- Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 11am-4pm. Admission is $13 for adults and $10 for kids. Or use the MAP Pass for one free adult and one free child.
