Sports fans, movie lovers and families looking for something completely different are about to have a new place to play in downtown Detroit.

Cosm, an immersive sports and entertainment venue, is opening its fourth location in downtown Detroit on September 10, 2026, bringing its one-of-a-kind Shared Reality experience to Metro Detroit.

Located at 25 Cadillac Square, next to Campus Martius Park, Cosm Detroit is designed to make you feel like you’ve stepped directly into the action. Think of it as part stadium, part movie theater, part immersive experience and part upscale hangout – all under one massive LED dome.

What Is Cosm?

The easiest way to explain Cosm is to imagine watching a game from the best seat in the stadium but instead of actually being there, you’re surrounded by a massive, curved screen that puts you in the middle of the action. Cosm calls the technology Shared Reality, combining a stadium-like atmosphere with immersive visuals and a crowd experience. Unlike virtual reality, there’s no headset. Everyone in the room experiences the same thing together.

For sports fans, that means watching games from perspectives that can make you feel like you’re sitting courtside, on the sidelines or right on the field.

For families, it means movie night just got a whole lot more interesting.

Cosm has three primary spaces: The Dome, The Hall and The Deck, each offering a different way to experience an event.

  • The Dome: This is where you’ll get the most immersive experience. The enormous LED screen surrounds the viewing area, and reserved Dome tickets come with a designated seat plus access to the rest of the venue. Dome guests also get in-seat food and beverage service, meaning you don’t have to leave your seat to grab a snack during the movie or game.
  • The Hall: The Hall offers a more traditional social-viewing experience, with tables, booths and multiple viewing areas across two levels. Instead of focusing on one giant immersive Dome, The Hall features wall-to-wall LED screens, making it possible to watch multiple sporting events at once.
  • The Deck: The rooftop Deck overlooks downtown Detroit and Cadillac Square, giving families and groups another place to hang out before or after an event. General Admission tickets can include access to The Deck, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The current Cosm Detroit event calendar shows prices beginning around $17 for some Hall seating and approximately $55–$110+ for Dome seating, with premium seating costing more. Always check the individual event listing for the most current price before purchasing.

Harry Potter at Cosm Detroit Is the Family Event You Don’t Want to Miss

If you’re looking for a reason to introduce your kids to Cosm, start with Harry Potter. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will be presented in Shared Reality for select dates September 10th – 30th. Cosm has partnered with Warner Bros. Pictures, Little Cinema and MakeMake to transform the classic film into an immersive experience celebrating the movie’s 25th anniversary.

The original movie remains at the center of the experience, while the world surrounding it expands beyond the traditional screen. Hogwarts, the Wizarding World and other environments are brought to life around the audience, with hidden details and surprises for fans to discover.

Cosm has created an Enchanted Experience Menu starting at $40 per ticket, which can be added when you purchase your seats. Cosm says adding the menu during checkout saves 20% compared with purchasing it at the venue.

The Harry Potter experience runs approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, making it a substantial family outing rather than a quick movie stop.
