Winter at Valade is back for another season. Visit the Detroit Riverfront for FREE family fun on weekends in January and February.
Bundle up and head to the Detroit Riverfront for Winter at Valade Park! On select weekends in January and February, visitors can warm up by oversized outdoor fires, enjoy hot seasonal drinks, make s’mores on the custom marshmallow roasters, grab a sled from the Sled Shed (featuring free sleds when it snows), and more.
Plan your visit for a themed weekend!
- Fire and Ice (Jan. 10 – 12): All weekend enjoy oversized fires, turkey legs and an ice carving competition. Try your hand at ax throwing, or take your picture on our Iron Throne – made of ice, of course! Frozen’s Elsa and Renaissance Fair performers will be wandering the park for additional photo opportunities. The signature moment of the weekend is Fire and Ice Tower – a 7 foot ice structure that will become a giant bonfire once lit at 6pm on Saturday.
- Winter Around The World (Feb. 14 – 16): Join the Detroit Riverfront for Winter Around the World featuring a Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday, February 16. There will be an international food truck rally and dance performances showcasing a variety of styles and genres by Detroit artists.
Weekend event hours are Fridays 4pm to 9pm, Saturdays 12pm to 9pm and Sundays 12pm to 7pm.
Each Friday from Jan 10 to Feb 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. guests can enjoy family friendly-fun featuring karaoke with Detroit’s own Karaoke Kingz, classic and new board games, and food and drink specials from Smokey G’s Smokehouse and the Valade Shed Bar. Come back weekly for unique karaoke themes! While karaoke and games will take place inside the heated building at Valade, be sure to explore the park for curling, sledding, and fire pits for roasting s’mores!
FREE parking is available across from the park in a gravel lot located at the corner of Atwater and Chene. There are also public restrooms!
