Get ready, two of your favorite activities are coming together this fall. The Detroit Zoo is hosting a Tons of Trucks event on Sunday, September 17th from 9am to 1pm.

Interact with vehicles of all shapes and sizes at the Detroit Zoo. At Tons of Trucks, you’ll touch and climb trucks, lifts and carts used by Detroit Zoo staff, and see vehicles from local police and fire departments, construction companies and more! Here is a look what activities you’ll find at the zoo’s inaugural Tons of Trucks event.

  • An exploration of vehicles from various local organizations and companies
  • Interactions with Zoo staff and local officials
  • Face painting
  • Ed-zoo-cation stations featuring Detroit Zoo staff
  • Photographs with a Zoo mascot
  • An obstacle course and axe throwing
  • The opportunity to meet PAWS, the official mascot of the Detroit Tigers, from 10 a.m. to noon

Tons of Trucks is FREE for Detroit Zoo members. We highly recommend getting a membership because a $125 family membership pays for itself in just 2 visits per year. Non-members can enjoy Tons of Trucks for $3 per person.
