Join Cranbrook Institute of Science Alum, Dr. Cathy Olkin, to learn about her work on NASA’s Lucy Mission which was the first spacecraft to visit the Trojan Asteroids which share an orbit with Jupiter.

From 2014 to 2022, Dr. Olkin was Deputy Principal Investigator of NASA’s Lucy mission to ensure that the flight system could achieve the mission’s scientific objectives like understanding the asteroids’ geology, surface composition as well as bulk and thermal properties.

During this dynamic lecture, Dr. Olkin will share her experience on the mission to explore the Trojan Asteroids, remnants from planetary formation that hold clues to understanding the evolution of our solar system.
