Bundle up and join us for Fireworks and Flannels from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at Waterford Oaks County Park. The event will feature a 1K/5K Flannel Fun Run beginning at 3:30 p.m. and free activities that open at 5 p.m., including a beer tent sponsored by the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce with free games and live entertainment featuring Christopher Briney and Tyler Soncrainte. While enjoying the activities in the tent, stop by and visit the Oakland County Parks Planning team to chat about Waterford Oaks County Park, too.
Additional activities include horse drawn wagon rides around the park; live animals from Bowers School Farm; an illuminated three-quarter mile walking path that leads to Lookout Lodge where the Art Experience will be located; food trucks with fire pits located nearby to eat; face painting; Tootsie the Clown, who will create balloon animals; and fireworks. Event activities are free. The use of strollers and other walking assistance devices are recommended, as needed, due to the size of Waterford Oaks County Park.
The frosty fireworks display will begin at 8 p.m. Bundle up in your warmest flannel coats, blankets and socks to watch the fireworks outdoors in the event area or enjoy the view from the comfort of your heated vehicle.
