Huron-Clinton Metropark’s Indian Springs offers a full day of adventures and exploring for families!

Start your trip at the Environmental Discovery Center. This center is a gateway into the complexity and beauty of prairies, wetlands and woods and offers families the opportunity to experience nature learning activities – including a cool viewing area under the pond. When you’re done inside, stop by the front desk to check out a nature backpack for outdoor adventures. Each pack is loaded full of things to use around the park to help you identify Michigan’s natural wildlife. The prairie pack held a compass, binoculars, bird identifier, wildflower identifier, a guide to natural plants and a map! The Discovery Center is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

From the Discovery Center check out one of the many trails that lead you through the park and put that backpack to work. There are informative signs on the trails to teach you anything that you might have missed.

After that you can check out Meadowlark Playground and its huge wooden play structure. It’s surrounded by large hills to slow down your little runners. It also has tunnels, slides, monkey bars, a smaller structure for toddlers, swings, and a tire swing. The playground is full sun so make sure to pack the sunscreen!

The Metropark has a FREE splash pad with water cannons, spinning sprayers, water jets, and a dumping bucket! The water is chilly, perfect for those super hot days! Next to the splash pad you can climb a rock wall and a double rope course.

This is all free with vehicle admission. A Huron-Clinton Metropark vehicle pass is required to enter the park. An annual pass is $40 and a day pass is $10. You can also gain FREE access to 13 Huron-Clinton Metroparks with your library card, learn how here.
