Heritage Park, Wooden Structure (Canton)

Heritage Park in Canton is massive! The wooden structure is fenced in on three sides. The park includes multiple slides, a maze, tire swing, and two seperate swing sets. The structure has lots of hiding spaces and reminds you of a castle. Be sure to check out the splash pad and the storywalk while your there! (Splash pad opens Memorial Day and Closes Labor Day)

Ford Field Park (Northville)

Ford Field Park in Northville is mostly fenced in with two separate exits. The park has multiple slides, a small swing set, a smaller toddler area, and is partially shaded in the summer. The park also has a paved pathway, baseball fields, and is a short walk from Downtown Northville. It is also adjacent to the Historical Mill Race Village.

Shiawassee Park (Farmington)

Shiawassee Park in Farmington is completely fenced in with only one exit. The park features two play structures, one big and one smaller one. A sand digging area, tire swings, a swing set, a bathroom (open seasonally) a little free library, a gazebo with picnic tables and more! The park is a short walk from the downtown area and it has a paved walking trail. There is also a creek that runs besides the trail that is a home to many ducks.

Beverly Park (Livonia)

Beverly Park (also known as Sunset Park)is a quaint neighborhood park in Livonia. It is fenced in on three sides, has a pavilion, benches, swings, toddler structure and lots of fun things to climb. From rock walls, ropes and monkey bars this is a climbers paradise.

Plymouth Township Park “McClumpha” (Plymouth)

The wooden structure at Plymouth Township Park is not only fenced in on three sides, it’s shaded too! This is another wooden gem and a great park. The wooden structure has tons of hiding spots, slides, two swing sets and a tire swing. It has bathrooms open seasonally nearby and tons of pavilions with lots of seating. Plymouth Township Park also has a splash pad, a second plastic play structure, hiking trails, a fishing pond, and baseball diamonds.

Kiwanis Park (Plymouth)

Kiwanis Park has a two story playscape, climbing blocks, a toddler structure and a swing set. It also has a large open area so bring a ball to play. You will also find a pavilion with picnic tables and a grill here. It is pretty shaded mid-day and only has street parking available for free. The park is mostly fenced in except two spots at the far end of the field and where you walk in. There are no bathrooms at this park so plan ahead!

Central Park (Milford)

Central Park in Milford is huge! The play area is fenced in with only one exit. There is seating around the fence for the adults and a massive play structure for the kids! The park has a tire swing, swing set, multiple slides, monkey bars and more! There are pavilions close by as well as basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts and a walking trail. You can also enjoy a scenic view of the Huron river nearby. Central Park is just a short walk from Milfords downtown and has bathrooms open seasonally.

Hess-Hathaway Park (Waterford Twp)

Hess-Hathaway Park is fully fenced in with a gate! This cute farm themed playground is always a hit. It has a sand pit, maze, multiple slides, swings and a pavilion. Also, nearby is the petting farm. Check out turkeys, horses, cows and rabbits and take a break from the playground. They do have bathrooms open seasonally on the farm side of the park.

Rotary Tot Lot (Grosse Pointe)

The Rotary Tot Lot is completely fenced in with a gate! The Park has a swing set, two structures, multiple slides, a sand digging area, climbing area, and merry-go-round. There is also a pavilion, a little free library and seating nearby for the adults. This park has no parking lot. But, street parking is readily available.

Munson Park (Monroe)

This park is fully fenced in except one exit. It hosts lots of slides and is another wooden gem. Also at this park you will find hiking trails and a skate park.

Innovation Hills (Rochester Hills)

Kids will love the massive tree house, climbing features, turf hill for box sliding, musical instruments and water features. Parents will appreciate the ample amounts of cafe-style and picnic tables for snacks to go or relaxing while kids play safely on the playground. The playground is right next to the parking lot but enclosed to prevent kids from running off or being near traffic.

Clawson Tot Lot (Clawson)

The Clawson City Park is the city’s largest outdoor recreation area. It features a fenced in tot lot, children’s play structure, skatepark, baseball and soccer fields just to name a few!

Fort Fraser at Steffens Park (Fraser)

Located behind Fraser’s City Hall, Fort Fraser is a LittleGuide favorite! This all wooden structure is fenced in with only one exit and is a older kids paradise. There are lots of hiding spaces like most wooden structures, swings, monkey bars and slides.

Seymour Lake Park (Oxford)

Kids Kingdom in Seymour Lake Park is amazing! This massive modern play structure is completely fenced in and ready for a day of play. The area has lots of trees for you to enjoy a picnic under. There are slides, monkey bars, swings and a seperate splash pad awaiting you at this park!

Fountain Park (Flat Rock)

Fountain Park also known as Community Park is another great park. This wooden castle type park is fenced in with only one exit. It features swings, slides, and fun. Fountain Park also has a splash pad, basketball courts, bathrooms, and tennis courts.

Thorn Park (Brownstown)

Thorn Park is a modern playground with both a toddler structure and a larger one for older kids. The park also hosts a splash pad, and safety town bike paths.

Peasley Park (Huntington Woods)

Peasley Park has all-natural play area, full of climbing rocks and logs, a soft surface hill, as well as a slide, some tunnels, and other climbing spaces. There’s also a giant sand box loaded with fun sand toys! There’s also a climbing structure that’s perfect for older kiddos, with swings, picnic tables, a large grassy area and an on-site porta potty. The park is completely fenced in with street parking available off of Coolidge Hwy.

Lake St. Claire Metropark (Harrison Twp)

Lake St Claire Metropark hosts a massive fenced in playground. Climb like a monkey, swing, play on the merry-go-round, or slide down one of the many slides. Plan to spend the day here. The park also has a nature center, putt putt course and a splash pad! Use your Metroparks pass to get in or it costs $10 per day.
