Fenced in parks are few and far between. But, Shiawassee Park in Farmington is perfect for those who want to escape!

Shiawassee Park in Farmington is completely fenced in with only one exit. Which is very visible by lots of nearby seating and picnic tables for the adults. The park features two play structures, one big and one smaller one. Even the big one is quite toddler friendly with walk up options to play on the structure itself. There are tons of climbing options also, fire pole, monkey bars, trapeze bars and balance beams. There is also a sand digging area, tire swings, a swing set, ride ons, a bathroom (open seasonally) a little free library, a gazebo with picnic tables and so much more!

The park is a short walk from the amazing downtown area and has a walking trail. There is also a creek that runs besides the trail, that is home to many ducks. In fact, we often refer to it as “Duck Park” due to the sheer number of ducks! Pack a lunch to enjoy under the pavilion or cross the bridge and enjoy scenic views of the water and wildlife while you eat.
