Take part behind the scenes as the draft horses are harnessed and hitched to the wagon. Learn what the different elements of their harness do and how they work together. When the horses are dressed and ready, you’ll be all set for a relaxing hayride along the farm’s wooded trails. Don’t miss out on this unique hands-on experience!
HARNESS AND HITCH  Tuesday, September 13 @ Wolcott Mill Metropark, Ray Watch our staff get our draft horses ready for action. Take pictures and ask questions in this behind the scenes look at what it takes to get the draft horses harnessed and hitched to the wagon. Learn what makes draft horses so special, and how we care for these amazing animals. Then climb aboard for a short wagon ride around the farm. This fun and relaxing adventure is great for the entire family. Our wagon is wheelchair accessible. Patrons will walk on gravel roads to get to horse barn.

GREAT FALL FESTIVAL Saturday, October 1 & Sunday, October 2 @ Maybury Farm, Northville The weekend festival features live music, activities, games, demonstrations and a tractor drawn wagon ride. You can also enjoy delicious eats & treats from one of the visiting food trucks.
FALL WAGON TOURS October 1  & 2, 15 & 16, 22 & 23, 29 & 30 @ Stony Creek Metropark, Shelby Township Hop on our tractor-drawn wagon and enjoy the beauty of fall along a Nature Trail. Along the way, our staff will share stories about Stony Creek’s history and various natural features. After your tour, we welcome you to a roaring campfire to celebrate the season. Program is weather dependent. Participants will need to climb 3 stairs to get on the wagon.
PUMPKIN PATCH WAGON RIDES  October 1  & 2, 15 & 16, 22 & 23, 29 & 30 @ Wolcott Mill Metropark, Ray Join us for a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out your Halloween pumpkin. Go through the corn maze and warm up near the bon fire while enjoying a cup of cider and a doughnut. On site pumpkin carving is available along with some fun field activities. Last wagon to the pumpkin patch leaves at 2:30 p.m. Pumpkins are additional price based on size.
HARVEST HAPPENING Sunday, October 2 @ Hess-Hathaway Park, Waterford The day of fun will be filled with games & activities, crafters, entertainment, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, historic house tours, food and more!
GROUP HAYRIDES October 6, 7, 13 & 14 @ Marshbank Park, West Bloomfield Experience the changing seasons at Marshbank Park while enjoying a 20 minute tractor-drawn hayride. You’ll encounter a few nature knowledge stops along your route for added adventure. Take your picnic blanket and find a cozy spot to enjoy cider and a seasonal treat.
HARVEST DAY Saturday, October 8 @ Ford House, Grosse Pointe Shores Get outside and kick off autumn at Harvest Day at Ford House. There will be lots of free fun for everyone, including old-school lawn games, a petting zoo, horse and pony rides, face painting, a giant leaf pile, hands-on-activities, and plenty of photo opportunities!
PUMPKINFEST   Saturday, October 8 & Sunday, October 9 @ MSU Tollgate Farm Children’s Garden, Novi Take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Food, music, farm animals, educational exhibits, and children’s activities all make for a fun fall outing for all ages.
HARVEST FESTIVAL Saturday, October 15 @ Crosswinds Marsh Wetland Interpretive Preserve Join us for Harvest Festival at Crosswinds Marsh. Enjoy a forested hayride and gather around the bonfire for kid-friendly stories while enjoying cider and donuts. Kids 17 years old and younger can participate in a costume parade.
