Cranbrook Institute of Science: Friday, August 1st

Enjoy free admission to Cranbrook Science on Friday from 6pm to 10pm.

Reading & Rhythm on the Riverfront (Detroit): August 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th & 15

Reading and Rhythm on the Riverfront is held at Gabriel Richard Park, a large riverfront oasis, where families can enjoy music, storytelling and story time, in person and projected on a large screen. Attendees also receive free snacks and a book. 45 minute sessions are hosted every Thursday + Friday at 10am and 11:30am from July 11th to August 16th and parents must pre-register.

Home Depot Kid Workshops: Saturday, August 2nd

On the first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon, Home Depot hosts free in-person kid workshops.

Storytime @ The Ford House: Tuesday, August 5th

Ford House storytimes sessions are great for kids ages 7 and younger. Enjoy an interactive story, followed by hands on fun. Afterwards you can explore the museum, grab a picnic from The Speedster and find the perfect spot on the grounds for a morning of family fun.

MOCAD: Saturday, August 9th

Explore Family Days at MOCAD! Family Day activates the Museum for kids, youth, teens, and their grownups. All ages enjoy free admission and explore the galleries with opportunities to connect through hands-on art-making, gallery chats, and activity guides! August 9th from 11am to 3pm.

Michigan Science Center: Sunday, August 10th

The Michigan Science Center is offering FREE admission to the museum for its Cars & Coffee event on Sunday, August 10th. This event is your chance to meet car enthusiasts, EV aficionados, coffee lovers, and science lovers while immersing yourself in the innovative world of electric vehicles. DIY-U by Lowe’s: Saturday, August 16th

Join DIY-U for a magical experience where mini builders will craft their own recycling truck. This workshop runs from 9am – 1pm

Michigan History Museum: Sundays, August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st

Beginning with Michigan’s first people’s, the Anishinaabe, and ending in the mid-20th century, take a 3-story tour through time at the Michigan History Center in Lansing. The museum’s hands-on exhibits look at the life and industry in interactive ways that give kids a chance to stroll from the wilderness to the copper mines and into the classroom. The Michigan History Center is open on Mondays thru Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for youth ages 6 to 17 and children ages 5 and under are free. The Center is open on Sundays from 1pm to 5pm and admission is FREE!
