Bundle up the kiddos and head downtown because the annual Detroit Tree Lighting Ceremony at Campus Martius is Friday, November 17th.

The Christmas season kicks-off at Campus Martius on November 17th and downtown will be buzzing with activity from 4pm to 9pm. Head downtown to enjoy a spectacular ice skating performance by Olympian Nathan Chen, musical performances by country artist Miko Marks, Broadway star Talia Suskauer, and TikToker Paul Russell. The 1 hour performance begins at 7pm and air on WXYZ Channel 7.

Get started on your Christmas list and shop the Winter Market, warm up at Cadillac Lodge and find LOTS of family fun at the Monroe Street Midway – giant slide, bumper cars, arcade and more!

Take the NEW Holly Trolly to Beacon Park to check out their latest interactive light exhibit at their Light Up event! There will be more than 125,000 lights, including the Children’s Tree, Santa, live reindeer and the ‘Polar Express’ a FREE train ride! Grab a bite from food trucks and listen to live music at Light Up Beacon Park from 4pm to 9pm.

Can’t make it Friday? Plan a visit on Saturday, November 18th for Skating with Santa from 12pm to 4pm and downtown carriage rides from 6pm to 11pm.
