Snow tubing is very popular but not easy to find in metro Detroit. Hawk Island in Lansing is an easy drive if you’re lucky enough to get tickets for this family favorite winter activity.

Hawk Island’s hills are groomed specifically for snow tubing and riders will speed down one of many thrilling 16 ft wide sculpted snow lanes to drop 50-60 feet over a course of 500-600 feet. A magic carpet uphill conveyor lift transports riders to the top of the hill and snow making machines are used to extend the time the snow tubing hill can be used. There is no specific age requirement, but riders must be able to get in and out of the snow tube themselves, ride in the tube themselves (no lap riders) and stand on their own two feet while using the magic carpet.

Tickets will be going on sale in December for the 2025 season. Tickets are $11 per person for a 2 hour time slot. Click here for updates regarding snow tubing tickets.
