Your littles are going to love this! Howell Nature Center has opened up a mini ropes course for kids under 48 inches!
The latest addition to the Howell Nature Center is a new mini ropes course, Sky Tykes, designed for pint-sized adventurers. The cost is $5 per child and pre-registration is required. The new attraction opens Sunday, April 2nd.
Bigger kids (ages 5 and up) can reach new heights on the High Adventure Course that features zip line, climbing tower, high ropes course, giant swing and more! Check the calendar for upcoming dates.
If you haven’t been to the Howell Nature Center it’s a must for metro Detroit families. The rescue center is home to animals that range from mammals (including bobcats and foxes) to reptiles and birds. Their habitats are located on a stroller friendly path and offer an upclose look at wild life. If you want to walk more, there are hiking trails along hilly terrain that make you feel a million miles from home (it’s not as stroller friendly and I’d recommend a baby carrier for little ones). If you want more scenic views, the gardens are gorgeous and so are the natural wildflowers. Grab a book from the little library and have storytime in the gazebo.
Before you leave stop by the playground and let the kids play in the treehouse, race across the bridge, hop on the logs, climb the rope web or rock walk and slide down the ‘sand dunes’. The nature based playscape reminds you that you can have a lot of fun in the great outdoors.
The Howell Nature Center is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3 to 17.
