You’ve walked the zoo, strolled the zoo and even taken the train at the Detroit Zoo, but have you ever BIKED the Zoo? Now’s your chance! Join the Bike Safari at the Detroit Zoo on August 1st.

Enjoy an exclusive opportunity to ride your bicycle through the Detroit Zoo and enjoy an after-hours look at your favorite animals. Child carriers, tricycles, bicycle trailers and training wheels are allowed on this family-friendly adventure. Helmets are mandatory. During the Bike Safari guests can enjoy the following:

  • Animal habitat chats
  • Discounted Carousel rides

  • Themed photo opportunities
  • AND travel back to the “Age of Dinosaurs” while exploring the Dinosauria walk-through experience!

The Bike Safari is Thursday, August 1st from 6pm to 9pm. Admission is $30 for adults and $25 for kids (members enjoy a $5 discount per ticket). Get your tickets here.

3 Bike Safety Tips from Children’s Hospital of Michigan:

  • Always wear a helmet
  • Make sure your helmet has no cracks (inside or out) and that the pads are still inside
  • Check the expiration date, helmets expire after 5 years
