This year marks the 58th Annual Art & Apples Festival®, presented by Genisys Credit Union. Taking place the weekend after Labor Day, this three-day festival welcomes patrons to Rochester Municipal Park to experience and enjoy over 270 artists, 14 live performers, 26 food vendors from across the country, and free kids’ art activities throughout the weekend.
This FREE ($5 suggested donation) festival runs:
- Friday, September 6th: 2:00pm – 7:00pm
- Saturday, September 7th: 10:00am – 7:00pm
- Sunday, September 8th: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Bring the family to the Meijer Kids Art Zone. Let one of the volunteers help you create a whimsical flower or butterfly. When finished, you can add your creation to Monet’s Garden Mural which will be on display throughout the entire festival. Other activities at the Kids Art Zone include bounce houses, slime station, spray tie-dye station, and a scavenger hunt.
At the Creation Station, you can see live demonstrations of artists turn raw materials into beautiful finished pieces right before your eyes. Past demonstrations have included glass blowing. If you head to the bandstand you can see a variety of family-friendly performances. Be sure to pack a chair or blanket and settle in for some amazing music and dance. A full performance schedule can be found here.
