Are you looking for a park that will please everyone in the family? Check out McHattie Park in South Lyon!

McHattie Park has it all! It hosts a large play structure, four volleyball nets, a baseball field, sledding hill, two swing sets and an additional We-Go-Swing that is all inclusive and no transfer for people of all abilities. The park also features sand diggers, benches and picnic tables, indoor bathrooms, drinking fountain, a smaller playground, and it’s a short walk from their historical village and train depot.

McHattie Park cannot be seen from the road, making it a hidden gem of a park. When you walk up it takes a second to realize how much there is to do. The toddler structure, next to the sand diggers, has two slides and a tunnel. The large structure has four different slides, including a tall swirling slide! There are plenty of things to climb on too including a moving climbing wall, swinging steppingstones, monkey bars, zipline, and swinging monkey bars. You can also climb up a fish or a log to get to one of the many platforms.

Need a break from playing? Check out the walk through Little Free Library! Take a walk on the paved trail or go to the historical village. They have open houses and Depot Days, so be sure to check their calendar here. Even if the buildings are closed it’s still cool to walk through! Plus, they have a caboose you can look in. There is a small parking lot, but don’t worry if the parking lot is full. There is more parking available in the historic village.
