Merry Grinchmas: Where to Meet the Grinch in Metro Detroit

One of the most famous holiday characters is making his rounds in metro Detroit and now is your chance to come face-to-face with the mean one. Here’s our list of where to find the Grinch.

LIGHT THE VILLAGE (ROCHESTER HILLS)

Friday, November 21st @ 6pm

The Village of Rochester Hills is once again kicking off the most wonderful time of the year with its annual Light The Village holiday celebration. The event will feature Santa’s Grand Entrance at 7 p.m., a fireworks show at 7:15 p.m., and free walk-up visits with Santa from 8–9 p.m., along with complimentary 3D diffraction glasses, jingle bell necklaces, fuzzy reindeer antler headbands, face painting, balloon twisting, children’s crafts from Paint Creek Center for the Arts, giveaways from The Village and the City of Rochester Hills, shuttle service from Van Hoosen Middle School beginning at 5:30 p.m., and surprise gift card giveaways throughout the evening. Guests can also enjoy live holiday music and performances throughout the Village, featuring local high school bands and drumlines, stilt walkers, LED and fire performers, and special appearances by The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who.

HOMETOWN HOLIDAY LIGHTS (MONROE)*

Friday, November 22nd @ 6pm

Ring in the holiday season with the City of Monroe! The Mean One, Cindi Loo Who & the Winter Sisters will be at the Monroe’s Hometown Holiday Lights from 6:00-8:00PM for a meet & greet!

GREEN GUY AT BEEYOND TREASURES (HOWELL)

Saturday, December 6th @ 12pm

Wanna meet the infamous green guy? He’ll be in store from 12-3pm begrudgingly waiting to celebrate the Holiday season with you. Photo ops also available during this time.

HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA (PONTIAC)

Saturday, December 6th @ 12pm (parade begins at 11am)

GRINCH AT BLAKE FARMS (ARMADA)

December 6th & 7th

Come out to the farm and enjoy an afternoon with the Grinch and enjoy making your own Christmas ornament, endless photo opportunities, cider & donuts and unforgettable holiday cheer! Four workshop times will be offered each day – 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, and 2:30pm. Purchase tickets here.

Night of Lights is back with more lights, more activities and more community fun! Visit with everyone’s favorite holiday grump and his friend Cindy-Lou Who – don’t forget to wear your ugly holiday sweater! Plus, kids can decorate a cookie (while supplies last).

GRINCH HIKE (BURTON)

Guess who’s back… Back again! Come join our favorite greenie meanie, the Grinch! That’s right, before he steals Christmas, he’s going on a hike at For-Mar! Be prepared for Grinch tricks and general disgust over the whole holiday season. Everyone who attends will have the opportunity to take their picture with the Grinch.
