You don’t have go go far for a getaway, head to Grand Rapids this holiday season for family fun inside and out!
If you haven’t experienced Grand Rapids during the holiday season, now is your chance. The western Michigan metropolis is introducing a NEW mart this year to add to the list of festive fun:
- ChristKindl Markt is a traditional European Christmas market lined with artisan gift and food vendors, live holiday entertainment and festive family fun – including carolers, Santa and more! It is open Wednesday – Sunday from November 15th thru December 23rd.
- Christmas & Holiday Traditions at Meijer Gardens features 46 unique displays depicting fact and folklore. Venture outdoors and discover the beauty of nature with wintertime walks. Indoors and out, the magnificent grounds sparkle with 350,000 lights. NEW this year is EnLIGHTen an immersive light show!
- Strap on skates and take laps around Rosa Park Ice Rink. Located in downtown Grand Rapids it is located in front of the Grand Rapids Art Museum and opens in November.
- Go for a magical ride on Memory Lane Train at the Christmas Lite Show. You can drive in your car or hop on an illuminated train!

- Grand Rapids Children Museum is a miniature world for kids of all ages with a construction site, medical center, farm and shopping center. The current traveling exhibit is Very Eric Carle and brings the child book favorites to life.
- The Grand Rapids Public Museum features 3 floors of hands-on fun – including a brand new The Nature of Color exhibit that opens November 2nd.
- Grand Rapids Art Museum is a world-class art museum, and it currently features Brick by Brick: The Creative Art of LEGO exhibit – hands-on fun for creators of all ages.
