Scarlet’s Playground is for EVERYONE! The 18,000 barrier-free all-inclusive playground is a must visit for all metro-Detroit families.
Located at Commerce Township’s Dodge Park 5, Scarlet’s Playground is named and designed in honor of Scarlet Clark who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and uses a wheelchair. Her grandparents, former WXYZ news anchor, Stephen and Larenne Clark wanted to create a space where kids of all abilities can have fun and play together. Through Scarlet’s Smile a 501(c)(3), hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised to make the dream a reality.
The playground opened this summer and has something for all ages and abilities. From big slides to bouncing rides and rainbow tunnels. Kids can make music, climb high, ride the zip lines and race around the merry-go-rounds. The park is free and open to the public, there is plenty of parking and public restrooms being built but not yet ready for use.
