If YOU have cabin fever let us help you get out of the house and enjoy a night with your sweetie, or some friends, while your kids have their own fun at a kids’ night out event. Here’s a list of events happening in January and February.

Recurring Events

Fun Friday @ Stars and Stripes (Clarkston) – Fridays, September – May

  • The Stars & Stripes facility is open for the evening providing kids ages 7 and above an opportunity to get moving, hang with friends and use our multiple athletic areas for activities including warrior obstacles, dodge-ball, 1/2 court basketball, open play and more! The evening will include pizza and beverages for all Fun Friday participants. Pre registration is required as space is limited.

Kids’ Night Out @ Troy Gym (Troy) – Saturdays in February

  • Participants need to bring a water, snack or single dollar bills/quarters for vending/ice cream; we will have a designated snack time
  • Ages: 5 – 12
  • Cost: $20 per child (*$10 ZRC add-on for height appropriate participants; closed toe shoes required)
  • Time: 6:30pm – 9:30pm

Kids’ Night @ The HAWK (Farmington Hills) – Friday, January 24th

  • Hawk Recreation Staff will plan and oversee activities for a fun-filled night, including pizza party, swimming, giant inflatables and other fun activities.

Parents Night Out @ YMCA (Birmingham)

  • Whether your kids are looking for new fun and adventures at the Y, or you crave a kids-free night out, the Y’s Parents’ Day or Night Out programs are the perfect way to give yourself some time away while your kids play and learn alongside their peers under the supervision of our caring and trained staff

Cupid Celebration Kids Night Out @ RARA (Rochester)

  • In this special Valentine-themed evening session, we’ll be creating & playing a Cupid-style arcade game, mixing up our special pink drink slime recipe to take home, learning the Cupid Shuffle and more! Join us for the fun and educational evening out with friends, while parents get a well-deserved break at the same time!

Friday, February 7th

Kids Night Out! @ Mad Science Lab (Novi)

  • Kids can spend a few hours at the Mad Science Lab. Kids will also get to explore Art & Science experiences and we’ll always have a movie available so kids can also sit back, relax, and catch a G-Rated flick!

Eyas Babysitting – Rock Harley Johnny Cash Tribute @ The Hawk (Farmington Hills)

  • The Eyas Babysitting Club is a new program created to help parents enjoy a night out! Parents can plan a special night out to view a concert (this month is Rock Harley Johnny Cash Tribute) while kids get to enjoy a night in at the Hawk Community Center. Hawk Recreation Staff will plan and oversee activities for your child(ren) to enjoy during select concert performances. Must be attending the concert
  • Ages: 3 – 12
  • Cost: $15 per child
  • Time: 7:00pm – 10:30pm (drop off up to 1 hour before concert start, pick up must be within 30 minutes of concert end time)

A Dinner Date with Childcare?

While it might sound “too good to be true,” the owners of Host Utica, Michael and Andrea, have done just that. As parents of 2 young boys they know just how important it is to have uninterrupted meal time to reconnect with your partner. Which is why they offer a Parent’s Night Out every Tuesday – Thursday from 5pm – 10pm. So how does this work:

  • Reservations required 1 day before you plan to dine to ensure adequate staffing
  • Cost: $8 for 1.5 hours per child. An additional $3 per child for every 30 minutes after the initial 1.5 hours
  • Parents MUST remain on site and will be notified to change children who are not potty trained
  • Activities provided
  • Limited kids menu available to send food up to children
