Start planning for a summer playdate! Social Tykes just announced that they’re coming to Corktown in downtown Detroit – and we can’t wait for a new spot to hang out with the kids!

Social Tykes will bring a new open play space for children ages newborn to 6 in downtown Detroit. Located on Michigan Avenue next to The Corner Ballpark (the former site for Tiger Stadium and current home of Detroit PAL), parents will be able to sit back and relax while their kids play. Or if you need to run errands (without the kids), there will be a drop-off option for kids ages 3 to 6 years old!

Social Tykes is built as a curated space for mothers and families to connect with one another and relate on common stress that parents go through on a day to day basis. A safe space to talk, work, and breastfeed as needed. The space will be created with the goal for kids to build lasting relationships and learn together. They will offer movement classes for the adults and their little ones. Tykes drop in care will be offered for ages 3-6 years old. This care will offer a minimum of 2hrs, maximum 5hrs, allowing parents or guardians to attend meetings, appointments, and classes as needed.

Also on site – they’ll offer bottled beverages and pre-packaged healthy snacks for your littles! Space rental for parties will also be available.

We’ll keep you posted on the opening date and details – but in the meantime, if you’re looking for a place to play – here’s our metro Detroit guide.
