It doesn’t get better than Michigan and Glen Arbor is as close as it comes to paradise. Plan a getaway the entire family will remember for years to come.

GREAT FAMILY HIKES:

  • Pyramid Point Trail is a short and easy trail that the whole family can do! It has just a slight incline throughout the trail, but offers a HUGE payoff as you end at the top of a sand dune overlooking the most beautiful lake views!
  • Empire Bluff Trail is a 1.5-mile wooded trail that is PERFECT for kids! It’s not too long, it’s not too steep – and the end view is SPECTACULAR!

FAMILY FRIENDLY DINING

  • Cherry Republic is a MUST! Their outdoor dining is casual (and delicious), with oversized games and tractors for your kids to climb and play with. They also have live music and pro tip: head into their store to check out the free samples!! 😉
  • Farm Club is a modern spot that offers indoor and outdoor dining, overlooking an incredible view of their on-site garden. The food is amazing for the adults, and the kids menu rounds out something for everyone.
  • The Mill is a NEW coffee shop (and dining spot…we had a date night here and it was AMAZING)! But in the morning, it’s a great stop for pastries & coffees to eat outside along the river!

FAMILY FUN

  • Glen Arbor Township Park offers a NEW Playground for kids to get their wiggles out! It’s perfectly located near downtown, so you can eat…then play!
  • The Cottage Book Shop just might be the CUTEST book shop you’ll ever walk into…and I dare you to walk out without a book!
  • River Club just opened a NEW (and AMAZING) putt putt course next to their walk up dining spot, bar, and live music stage!
  • Sleeping Bear Dunes is an obvious MUST! No trip to this area is complete without climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes (or trying to, at least)! Your kids will love climbing up and running down the dunes (over and over and over again).
  • Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail – if your family is into biking, this trail is the perfect way to get from Glen Arbor to the Dunes. It’s roughly 4 miles of relatively flat paved trail that offers incredible scenery and fun stops along the way (Glen Haven Beach and Historic Village).
  • Glen Haven is a great stop along the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail – with a beautiful (and quieter) beach, a general store, restrooms, and the Cannery Boathouse Museum that’s free and open for the public to check out old boats, lighthouse lights, and even ring the bell!
