We always find it helpful to see what other parents are gifting their kids, so we thought we’d share what we’re ACTUALLY putting under the tree for our kiddos this year! Our LittleGuide team of Moms has a good spread of ages and stages so we’ve got a variety of gift ideas below.

GIRLS, Ages 2yrs – 4yrs old

  • BALANCE BEAM (2yr old) Just as the title says, my daughter is little Miss Antsy Pants, so I’m excited for this balance beam to keep her a little occupied…and work on her balance!
  • PRETEND MAKEUP KIT (2yr old) My niece had this pretend make-up kit at a dinner recently and my daughter was OBSESSED! They were both occupied the whole dinner, so I ordered it for Christmas right then and there!
  • GUITAR (3yr old) After her ukulele toy broke, we decided to upgrade her to a real guitar! It’s really neat watching her navigate the strings and tuning pegs. She also loves to create her own songs and lyrics.
  • ARTS & CRAFT KIT (3yr old) Rather than a set activity, this will be perfect for our daughter to create something unique and she’ll love carrying around the folding case too!
  • LEAPFROG MR. PENCIL’S SCRIBBLE & WRITE (4yr old) This looks like an awesome educational toy that she can use to practice writing her letters, numbers and shapes.
  • BARBIE SURPRISE DOLL (4yr old) My daughter is obsessed with “surprise” toys and this one is actually worth it. Slime, Barbie, accessories, all for $10. Plus, she kept the cup and it’s her new favorite bath toy!

GIRLS, Ages 5yrs – 7yrs old

  • CRAYOLA ART CASE (6yr old) Ever since her older sister got one, she’s been wanting one for herself! Fresh art supplies are always a good idea. And with different case designs, she can remember which one is hers!
  • LEGO MINIFIG PHOTOGRAPHY ACTIVITY KIT (6 & 9yr old) My girls love playing LEGO’s and building elaborate LEGO scenes together… I can’t wait for them to find more ideas in this book and learn to take fun photos of their creations!
  • SQUISHMALLOWS CORGI DOG (6yr old) We just can’t kick Squishmallows, can we? A “cute” Squishmallow is at the top of my daughter’s wishlist and since we’re not ready for a REAL dog, this little stuffed one will have to suffice!

GIRLS, Ages 8yrs & up

  • LIGHT-UP ROLLER SKATES (8yr old) Roller skates are a childhood classic, but these ones look extra fun because they light-up! Perfect for those nights at the roller rink or a trip around the park in the summer.
  • AMAZON FIRE TABLET (8yr old) We decided to get her her first tablet! We’ve heard good things about this one because it has ad-free content, parental controls and a 13-hr battery life.
  • FASHION DESIGN SKETCH BOOK (8yr old) My little fashionista loves picking our her own outfits and now she can sketch some too in this fun book!
  • FUIJIFILM INSTAX CAMERA (9yr old) She won’t have to ask to borrow my phone to take fun pictures anymore, and these ones print instantly! These little photos will be the perfect addition to her new love of scrapbooking and journaling.
  • FACE PAINTING KIT (9yr old) After attending our neighborhood block party this fall where I found my daughter using a friend’s face painting kit on all the neighbor kids, I knew she’d love a kit of her own!

BOYS, Ages 18 months – 3yrs old

  • KIDDEY BALL PIT (18 months) This was such a hit with our older child (so much that it got warn out!) that we’re getting a new one! It’s a really great activity to pull out in the winter months when the kids get restless.
  • VEGGIE BABY FINGER PAINTS (18 months) We’ve been using Veggie Baby finger paints since our first child was a baby. It’s made from vegetables and is super safe for little ones to start finger painting even while they like to put everything in their mouths!
  • RACE TRACK OBSTACLE COURSE (3yr old) My son is obsessed with cars…throw in a race track with buttons and levers that keep the cars moving on the course and I have a feeling this will be a hit all winter long! Bonus points for it not requiring batteries and helping with fine & gross motor skill development.
  • UPS PULL-BACK TRUCK (3yr old) These size cars/trucks are my son’s favorite. Since we already have a fire truck, police car, ambulance, USPS mail truck…it’s time for the UPS truck to join the toddler’s fleet!
  • STICKY BACK COLORING PAGE ROLL (2yr old) Are we just as excited for this gift as my child will be? Probably. We love the efficiency of coloring page rolls but this one has a sticky back so it doesn’t roll up on itself!

BOYS, Ages 4 – 6yrs old

  • MATCHING GAME (4yr old) We play memory every day! I’ll use half of the box at a time so it’s not overwhelming and it keeps the game fresh.
  • STACK YOUR CHICKENS GAME (4yr old) We like to play games at our house and this balance game is one we can play together or he can play independently!
  • KIDS SAFE BANK (5yr old) As the kids get older, I think it’s fun to upgrade them from Piggy Banks to “Safe Banks” – they think it’s super cool and good for saving their money!
  • GUESS IN 10 GAME (5yr old) My son loves to play “I Spy” so I think this would be a fun game alternative for rides in the car or at home!
  • BRUDER GARBAGE TRUCK (5yr old) If you know about Bruder Trucks…you know! They aren’t the cheapest trucks, but they are BEST! The are durable, they last forever, and my sons literally play with their other ones every single day.

BOYS, Ages 7yrs old & up

  • PRESS START BOOK SERIES (7yr old) My son LOVES to read. His favorite books are Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man and I think he’ll like this new “Press Start” series!
  • FOOTBALL TRAINER THROWING NET (7yr old) My son loves football and now he’ll be able to independently practice his football throw in the backyard whenever he wants!
  • SPY KIT (7yr old) My son is in a big “spy” phase, so I think he’ll love this Spy Kit! We’ve never been disappointed with these National Geographic kits for kids, they’re always so well done.
  • SMASHERS DINO ISLAND GIANT SKULL (7yr old) My dino-loving son is going to love smashing this Giant Skull to smithereens to get the goodies inside. And this one packs a punch with over 30 surprises inside!
