It’s not too hard to find Santa but his famous ‘flying’ friends can be easier to catch. Here are local events where you can expect to see reindeer in metro Detroit.

Christmas Aglow (Shelby Township) // November 30

Santa Claus makes his first stop to greet the township. After lighting the 34-foot tree, visitors can head into the library for free photos with Santa Claus. Also included: hot chocolate stand, kids’ crafts, marshmallow roasting, horse-drawn carriage rides, the “Holiday Express” train display, and a live reindeer! It all starts at 6:30! Tree Lighting Festival (Wixom) // December 1st

It’s a fun-filled outdoor event in Wixom! The giant tree will come alive when Santa and his reindeer arrive. See reindeer from 6:30pm to 8pm.

Holiday Lighting Fest // Saturday, December 1st

This FREE event begins outside Township Hall with caroling, the arrival of Santa & the Holiday Lighting display. Then join us outside the Recreation Center for a festive celebration including: Refreshments, Crafts, Music, Live Reindeer, Photos with Santa & Giveaways! 

Holiday Extravaganza (Pontiac) // Saturday, December 2nd

The WinterFUN Festival is a great opportunity for families to come together to participate in several activities. There is a Gallery of Ice with live ice carving competition, a petting farm with adorable animals, live Santa reindeer, s’mores and more!

Holiday Hoopla (Waterford) // Saturday, December 9th

Celebrate the season with various FREE holiday activities including a visit and photo opportunity with Santa, a reindeer visit, crafts, cookie decorating, and more!  This event is held outdoors, please dress for the weather. 3pm-6pm

Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farm (Clare)

Take a trip to the Reindeer Farm in Clare Michigan. Check on the reindeer, visit with Santa, check out the candy maker and enjoy warm donuts, hot cider and cocoa for a holiday trip. The farm is open Wednesdays through Sundays beginning December 1st. Admission is $8 per person.

Grandpa Tiny’s Heritage Farm (Frankenmuth) // Saturdays & Sundays until December 17

Meet Santa himself along with the reindeer in training. Bring a letter for Santa if you haven’t already mailed it! Watch and chat with the jolly workers helping to keep Santa’s Farm running smoothly. Included is making an ornament with the Woodworker to take home with you! 5 years old and younger are free with a ticket holding adult. Tickets are $17. Open Saturdays and Sundays through December 17th
