Bundle up and spend time outside at one of the many local winter festivals happening all throughout Metro Detroit this weekend. From ice carvings to plenty of live entertainment, find fun for all ages.
Plymouth Ice Festival (Plymouth)
- Friday: 5pm to 10pm
- Saturday: 10am to 10pm
- Sunday: 10am to 6pm
Walk the streets of Plymouth while enjoying over 60 ice sculptures and daily demonstrations. Each block starts out as a 350 lb hunk of ice and is then carved into a magnificent piece of artwork. Warm up at the Penn Theater and watch Frozen on the big screen for $5 or visit the traveling petting zoo on Saturday and Sunday.
Motown Love @ Valade Park (Detroit)
- Friday: 4pm to 9pm
- Saturday: 12pm to 8pm
- Sunday: 12pm to 7pm
Valentine’s Day comes to the 313 with a local vendor market, a Detroit Pistons park takeover, and a classic Motown soundtrack courtesy of local DJs and dance groups. Kids can play and go sledding at the playground too. There will also be crafts, vendors and s’more making.
Downtown Trenton Winterfest (Trenton)
- Friday: 4pm to 8pm
- Saturday: 10am to 8pm
Take a trip Downriver for ice sculptures, live entertainment, outdoor activities and more!
Winterfest (Romeo)
- Saturday: 9am to 4pm
Kids crafts, horse-drawn wagon rides, Snow Princesses, Ice Sculptures and more! Take a walk down the Giant Snowman Adventure Trail and vote for your favorite.
WinterFest (Berkley)
- Saturday: 12pm to 2pm
WinterFest is a FREE annual event designed to embrace the cold weather and celebrate Michigan’s winter season. It is a great event for whole family – all activities will be held outdoors and include ice sculptures, a petting farm, bouncers, and more!
Winter Carnival (Rochester)
- Saturday: 12pm to 4pm
Join Oakland Township Parks and Rec for the annual carnival with ice carving demonstrations, snow games, ice skating, magic show and more!
World of Winter (Grand Rapids)
Join us on our weekend road trip – we’re heading to west Michigan for the FREE World of Winter Festival. The World of Winter is a FREE, outdoor festival in downtown Grand Rapids that features over 100 events, activities and outdoor art installations. Enjoy the displays during the day and stick around in the evening to see them illuminated. The outdoor art is on display along the Grand River and this year’s installations include Starry Night, Angels of Freedom, House of Cards, Roaming Gnomes and more. This weekend, Ice Park debuts for super cool fun!
