Experience family fun inside and out all year long at Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown, Michigan.

Lake Erie Metropark is one of 13 Huron-Clinton Metroparks and you can gain admission to the park with a day pass or annual parks pass ($40). The Annual Pass grants you access to all of the parks and is well worth the cost but if it’s not in your budget, gain FREE admission with the Michigan Activity Pass (learn more about that here).

Plan a visit any time of the year to check out the Marshland Museum. FREE with access to the park, the museum gives visitors a chance to explore nature and the cultural heritage of the Downriver/Lake Erie region. Kids will have fun playing in the Muskrat Club area and learning about history in the hands-on exhibits.

After exploring inside, head out for a nature walk. There are three miles of nature trails that start from the Marshlands Museum. A long boardwalk and several overlooks along the trails provide excellent views of marshes, lagoons, and wildlife. Let the kids race out any remaining energy at the playgrounds near the Great Wave pool or Cove Point picnic are.

During the summer months, soak up the sun and have fun in the Great Wave pool and splash pad.

Lake Erie Metropark is located at 32481 West Jefferson Avenue, Brownstown, MI 48173 and open daily from 7am to 8pm. The Marshlands Museum is open Mondays thru Fridays from 1pm to 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm from September 1st to June 18th. From June 19th to August 31st it is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
