Looking for an excuse for a road trip? The traveling Bugs exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum is larger than life and the perfect addition to the 3-story hands-on museum.

Grand Rapids is always a good idea and only a 2 hour trip from metro Detroit (a managable day trip). The new Bugs exhibit is fun, educational and interactive. Enter the bugs’ world, marvel at their talents, and witness them in action as you explore the illuminated pods and test your newly discovered knowledge with hands-on activities. The temporary exhibit runs thru February 4, 2024.

The temporary exhibit is just as good as the permeant ones at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Walk the streets of old Grand Rapids, play games in the vintage arcade, and stroll through the A to Z exhibit to learn new things. Don’t miss out on the carousel that’s located in an enclosed space overlooking the Grand River.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is open Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids. Carousel rides are free but you must reserve a timeslot in advance.
