Celebrate Earth Day with FREE admission to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum at Belle Isle State Park on Saturday, April 22nd.

The Dossin Great Lakes Museum is celebrating Earth Day with free admission and a new exhibit. In partnership with the University of Michigan, Microplastics: Here, There, Everywhere will help visitors to learn what microplastics are, how they enter our environment, and what we can all do to combat the problem. Pre-register here to enjoy free admission.

In addition to the new exhibit, guests can explore the standing ones that showcase the story of the Great Lakes. From stately cruises to battleship and Boblo Isle memorabilia, kids and adults will enjoy the hands on displays at the riverside museum.

The Dossin Great Lakes Museum is open Fridays thru Sundays from 10am to 5pm. Regular admission is $5 per guest or $20 for a household of up to 6 people. You can drive on Belle Isle for free with a State Park pass ($12 annually to access to all of Michigan’s State Parks) or for $10 with a day pass.

While you’re on Belle Isle yhou can also visit the Belle Isle Aquarium and Belle Isle Nature Center for free. There are multiple playgrounds, nature trails and gardens to enjoy as well.
