EARTH DAY CELEBRATION @ BURGESS-SHADBUSH NATURE CENTER (SHELBY TOWNSHIP)
Join us as we celebrate our favorite planet – Earth! Enjoy live bluegrass/folk music by “Ben Steel and his Bare Hands,” face painting, live animal ambassadors, a food truck, crafts (while supplies last), educational stations, and scheduled guided hikes. We will also have open archery for children ages 5-17 years old – equipment and instruction provided. You can meet local environmental organizations and learn how you can get involved. All ages welcome to this event!
EARTH DAY CLEANUP @ STONY CREEK METROPARK (SHELBY TOWNSHIP)
Earth Day is a time to reflect on your impact on the planet and work towards more sustainable practices and efforts that support a healthy environment for all of us. Litter and plastic can be dangerous to animals and unsightly to look at in the parks. We need your help to keep Stony Creek Metropark beautiful and safe for people visiting and for the wildlife that live here. Check in at the Park Office to pick up your tools (trash bags and gloves), and directions/map to your assigned cleanup area.

This interactive environmental program, hosted by Wayne County Parks, teaches kids & families about the beautiful wildlife and man-made pollution that threatens it in our local area. There will be hands-on-learning, so dress for mess. Registration required.
