When you need FREE family fun! Head to Beacon Park in downtown Detroit.

Every year, Beacon Park transforms into a lighted attraction in downtown Detroit – perfect for family ops and family festivities. This year’s Toyland theme includes a lighted train, giant teddy bear and tunnel of lights. The light display is open daily – something to do after Christmas dinner – from 6am to 10pm and runs through January 16, 2023.

Mark your calendar for December 31st and enjoy the New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown from 1pm to 6pm. Young revelers can create free make-and-take 2023 calendars and New Year Bingo cards. Just before 6 p.m. the official countdown will crescendo with a light show, bubbles and noisemakers! The FREE activity takes place inside and outside the Winter Lodge Tent.

While you’re at Beacon Park, check out Lumen for family dinner. They have special glass chalets for outdoor dining.
