The Solar Eclipse is happening on Monday, April 8th around 3pm. Find a local viewing event to experience it, many events are FREE! Check out the list of events here.

FREE Community Day

  • When: Friday, 10am to 8pm
  • Where: Michigan Science Center, Detroit

It’s always a good time at the Michigan Science Center and even better when it’s FREE! Reserve your tickets for Community Days and enjoy over 220+ interactive exhibits and live demonstrations. In addition to regular exhibits, guests can also enjoy special activities and demonstrations.

First FREE Friday

  • When: Friday, April 5th; 10am to 10pm
  • Where: Cranbrook Institute of Science, Bloomfield Hills

Courtesy of MASCO, admission to the Institute of Science is free the Friday of each month. Planetarium programs and admission to the Changing Exhibit Gallery are offered at an additional charge.

Fairytale Princess Ball

  • When: Friday; 5:30pm to 7pm
  • Where: Fairytale Fun Place, Clarkston

Children will be left in awe as they watch a royal performance, along with dances, photographs, and even a crowning ceremony with some of their favorite classic princesses! 

Open Barn

  • When: Friday & Saturday
  • Where: Bowers School Farm, Bloomfield Hills

Bowers School Farm opens for the season this weekend. Visit with animals and engage in some hands-on activities around agriculture.

FREE Touch-A-Truck

  • When: Saturday, 10am to 1pm
  • Where: The Henry Ford, Dearborn

Kids can climb in and explore public service vehicles, construction trucks, Huron-Clinton Metroparks’ Mobile Learning Center, the U.S. Coast Guard and more in the parking lot of The Henry Ford Museum! A special sensory-friendly experience will be offered from 9am to 10am, you can email [email protected] for more information. After the outdoor experience, head inside the museum and check out PAW Patrol: Adventure Play. The exhibit is included with general admission to the museum now thru April 28th. The Henry Ford Museum is open daily from 9:30am to 5pm. 

“Face Off with Cancer” Hockey Game

  • When: Saturday, 2:30pm
  • Where: Suburban Ice Rochester

Rochester Police take on the Rochester Fire Department for an epic game of hockey to support local families facing cancer. There will be raffles, giveaways and more family fun! Admission is $10, children under 5 are FREE. You can purchase tickets online or at the door.

Total Eclipse On The Farm

  • When: Saturday – Monday
  • Where: Kackleberry Farms, Monroe

Kackleberry Farms is celebrating spring and the solar eclipse on April 6th – 8th. On Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy solar eclipse themed farm fun and on Monday, there will be a viewing party. Tickets are $20 and available online.

Eggstravaganza

  • When: Saturday, 9:30am to 12pm
  • Where: Maybury Farm, Northville

Enjoy egg hunts, face painting, seed planting, crafts, coloring, fun costumed characters, food trucks and new farm animals!

Spring Egg Hunt

  • When: Saturday, 10am to 11:30am
  • Where: Huron Park, Roseville

Our fuzzy friend arrives a bit early this year, so we want to make sure it’s a tad bit warmer out for our annual egg hunt! This event will be held at the Huron Park ball fields, located at Frazho and Kelly. Bring your camera for pictures with our “Special Guest”.

National Unicorn Day

  • When: Saturday, 10am to 3pm
  • Where: Carousel Acres, South Lyon

Help us celebrate one of our favorite days of the year! Visit all the farm animals including spring babies and enjoy a ride on a Unicorn! Admission is $9 per person and Unicorn rides are an additional $7 each.

FREE Unicorn Cookie Decorating

  • When: Saturday, 11am to 1pm
  • Where: Bakers Nook, Saline

Every child can decorate their very own free unicorn cookie, and we’ll have a whole stable full of other yummy unicorn-themed snacks to enjoy! Let your imagination sparkle! Unicorns of all ages are encouraged to wear their most dazzling unicorn costumes.

Anime & Comic Expo

  • When: Saturday & Sunday
  • Where: New Baltimore Trade Center

Join us for a thrilling Anime & Comic expo packed with cosplay, artist showcases, panel discussions, exclusive merchandise, and special guest appearances. Bring the whole family for a weekend of fun and creativity!

Bever Fever

  • When: Sunday; 1pm to 3pm
  • Where: Howell Nature Center

Who has large incisors to cut through wood, A strong tail to swim and ward off predators, and a waterproof coat? hat’s right BEAVERS! Join us for this deep dive into one of natures most exciting architects. Play games and learn all about these amazing mammals!

Sensory Friendly Day

  • When: Sunday; 10am to 12pm
  • Where: DNR Outdoor Adventure Center, Detroit

The DNR Outdoor Adventure Center welcomes friends and families with sensory processing differences to our sensory-friendly building hours! Enjoy the opportunity to explore and experience the OAC with building sounds and ambient noises at a lower volume. During your visit, there will be a quiet room with sensory materials available to use, and a limited building capacity. At noon, the building will open to the public.

Solar Eclipse Celebration

  • When: Sunday; 11am to 3pm
  • Where: Ann Arbor Hands On Museum

Learn all about astronomy at The Ann Arbor Hands On Museum’s hands-on activity tables on Sunday, April 7th (11am to 3pm), and get ready for the the first total solar eclipse since 2017! All activities are included with Museum admission. Daily admission is $16 per person.
