Serving the community for 40 years, the Flint Children’s Museum knows what kids love! Offering hands-on experiences of all types for children from ages 0-8, it is worth the drive from Detroit.

Get creative with activities like the Hand Shadow Theater, Pipe Organ, and Draw Alive. Or spark imagination in Our Town where kids can pretend play in a small town that includes a grocery store, pizza parlor and more. Then head over for one of their many scheduled dance parties or craft activities.

Offering so many choices for play, the activities and exhibits are spread over several unique ares:

  • How Things Work – dig into the augmented reality sandbox of take a whirl at the dancing marionettes
  • Performing Arts – go center stage to put on a show or groove to recycled rhythms and aerobic sounds
  • Health & Fitness – explore your body’s circulatory and muscular systems before climbing the rock wall
  • Our Town – grocery shopping, animal hospital, pizza parlor, Sam’s house and the post office!
  • Transportation Alley – gear up as a firefighter and hop on the fire truck
  • Tot Spot – mirrored and textured walls, mats for crawling and age-appropriate toys and activities for toddlers
  • Discovery Zone – explore fun ways to sort, deliver and create with recycling
  • Sproutside – outdoor space with educational programs, physical activities and messy art projects!

Admission to the museum is $8 for adults and $8 for children. They also participate in the Museums for All Program, to reduce the cost of admission so that all people can enjoy the FCM more often!

Membership costs $85 per year (and go on sale mid November through December). Members also get 25% off tickets to Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium!
