The Michigan Science Center is hosting a FREE Community Day on Friday, April 5th AND staying open late!
It’s always a good time at the Michigan Science Center and even better when it’s FREE! Reserve your tickets for Community Days and enjoy over 220+ interactive exhibits and live demonstrations. In addition to regular exhibits, guests can also enjoy special activities and demonstrations. Special activities include:
- LEGO Build the Change – Use LEGO bricks to complete a design challenge related to sustainability and space travel.
- Amazing Astronomy Science Demonstration – Science Stage – 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. – In this show, audience members will learn the basics of rocket science and space travel.
- Astronaut Tools Challenge – Test your skills like astronauts do: wearing gear like gloves and helmets that challenge dexterity!
- National Informal STEM Education Network (NISENet) Space Activities – Build your own moon base camp, design a mission medallion to commemorate your journey into outer space and learn how astronauts keep their rockets full of fresh, breathable air.
- Telescope Assembly – Learn about the design of telescopes by assembling one.
- Sphero Robots – Visitors can learn computer programming by using code to drive Sphero BOLT Robots through an obstacle course designed using DUPLO blocks and cones.
- Mobile Activity Stations inside Mi-Sci
- STEM Playground – Straw Rockets – Launching rockets educational activity
During the Free Days the Michigan Science Center will be open from 10am to 8pm. The museum is regularly open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is $14 for kids ages 2 to 15 and $18 for guests 16+. The museum is a member of the Museums for All program and families can receive $3 admission for up to 4 people when you show your SNAP/EBT card.
