The playground at Joe Louis Greenway Warren Gateway is officially open and well worth the wait!

Bundle up and check out the playground at Warren Gateway Trailhead Park. The massive play structure and super speedy slide will delight kids of all ages (it’s manageable for adults too). When they’ve had their fun there, there are other slides, swings and climbing structures to entertain and engage. There are a lot of playgrounds in metro Detroit and this one will make all the ‘best of’ lists.

The new play tower is next to a community space that will open in the spring and a fitness equipment park for adults. The playground is located along the Joe Louis Greenway,a 27.5 mile path that connects parks and neighborhoods throughout Detroit and includes Dearborn, Hamtramck and Highland Park. Bring your bikes and strollers to explore.

Other open access points of access are the Deqindre Cut and the the Dennis Archer Greenway. The Dequindre Cut Greenway is a two-mile gateway that connects the Detroit Riverfront/Outdoor Adventure Center to Eastern Market. Along the path visits can enjoy public art, natural play areas and recreation. The Dennis Archer Greenway is a 1.2 mile greenway that runs from the Detroit Riverwalk to East Vernor Highway, check it out and grab a coffee from The Red Hook along the way.

There is a new parking lot located next to the Warren Gateway Trailhead Park at 8034 W Warren Ave, Detroit, MI 48210.
