The Henry Ford is always a fun place to visit and if you have a preschooler at home, Tinkering For Tots is a fun STEAM activity to enjoy each month.

Each month families can visit a different museum location (in the summer months it’s in Greenfield Village) to tinker with toys, listen to a story, grab a take home activity STEAM activity kit and take a ‘field trip’ to a special museum exhibit. The inclusive program offers all learning resources in English, Spanish and Arabic. Tinkering for Tots is a drop-in program that runs from 10am to 12pm, check the list below for upcoming dates and themes.

  • February 13th: Challege the Rules
  • March 12th: Be Empathetic
  • April 9th: Take Risks
  • May 14th: Stay Curious

Tinkering For Tots is free with admission. We highly recommend investing in a family membership to The Henry Ford because it pays for itself in two visits and includes annual admission to Greenfield Village along with early access to purchase tickets to annual sell-out events (A Day Out With Thomas, Halloweekends and Holiday Nights, etc). Another reason families with preschoolers will want to join now is because the new Paw Patrol exhibit opens on February 18th and runs thru April 28th.

A family membership to The Henry Ford (including Greenfield Village) is $200 and includes 2 adults and all children under 18 in household. Daily admission is $30 for guests 12 and older and $22.50 for kids ages 5 to 11, younger kids are free.
