Located 10 minutes south of the Michigan border, Glass City Metropark offers FREE family fun along the Maumee River in Toledo.

Glass City Metropark is a must visit that offers a full day of family fun at multiple park all within walking distance. The latest addition, Grosbeak Discovery Play Area will keep your kids busy for hours as they explore the 41-foot-tall adventure tower with climbing nets and a covered circular slide – it’s a challenge your kids will love to try again and again. When they need to rest they can chill in the cargo nets across the bridge or climb the leather nets underneath. The playground also features multiple slides and bouny see-saw and zipline.

A short walk down the path is a natural playscape at the Prairie + Pollinator Discovery Play Area that will remind the kids of spy games as they climb through nets and wooden cages. Littles will love running in and around the grassy bunny hills. Enjoy some friendly competition and test your balance, strength, and endurance on engaging structures made from natural materials.

The Ribbon will have you back in winter but you can enjoy it during warm month too as the 1,000 ft loop is a skate rink turned roller rink. Bring skates from home or stop inside the Market for rental you can also get cozy in the mini huts that are perfect for family time – order a pizza and drinks for a family picnic.

Use the changing rooms in The Market and make a splash at the Mini Maumee Discovery Play Area. Get your feet wet in the river paths, climb on the frog sprayers and walk under a waterfall.

Toledo Metoparks are FREE to visit and Glass City isn’t the only one to check out. The Toledo Botanical Gardens Metropark, Oak Openings (Preserve Beach Ridge), and Wildwoods are also great places to explore nature and play!
