The school year is a couple months in but a lot of parents remain uncertain about what the child’s learning will look like and how their family can make it work. If you’re struggling with virtual learning, check out the Y Learning Centers for in-person care and academic support.
The Y Learning Centers are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm to children in kindergarten to 8th grade at 5 locations across metro Detroit:
- Boll Family YMCA (Detroit)
- Downriver Family YMCA (Southgate)
- Farmington Family YMCA (Farmington)
- South Oakland Family YMCA (Royal Oak)
- YMCA Camp Ohiyesa (Holly)
The YMCA staff works with families to create a schedule for each child to meet their academic needs, while also offer recreation activities (including space and time for brain breaks). Each Y Learning Center has safety and health procedures in place to protect students and staff while providing them the opportunity to have in-person interaction. Parents can register for the days they need and fees range from $13 to $33 per day.
