Drop-In and Open-Play are the bread and butter of toddler life. And these spots have your little ones covered with plenty of engaging toys, climbing structures, musical fun and lots of socialization with friends!

Berkley Community Center

Have a blast on Wednesdays from 9am to 11am for kids up to age 5. Activities include climbing toys, a bounce house, slides, balls, hula hoop and more! Located in the multipurpose room. $2 Resident, $3 Non-Resident (per child)

The Backyard Playroom (Berkley)

Cana Lutheran Church – 2119 Catapla Dr, Berkley, MI 48072

Stop by for FREE on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 12pm for kids under the age of 5. Explore the tree house and many activities. There is a registration form for you to sign the first time you come and after that, just a sign in sheet. They also offer coffee/tea and snacks for you as well for a minimal charge.

Bloomfield Township Public Library

1099 Lone Pine Rd, Bloomfield Twp, MI 48302

Drop-in for FREE unstructured play, building, and discovery in the Story Room on Fridays from 10am to 12pm. Caregivers and little ones of all ages can interact with toys and books that support each child’s learning and development. Adaptive toys for children with low vision, motor difficulties, or other accessibility needs will be included. The library also offers story times including a sensory friendly version.

The Canopy (Clawson)

317 S Crooks Rd, Clawson, MI 48017

Offered every day except Sunday! Open gym is on Mondays through Fridays from 10am to 3pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. Kids can run, jump, and explore in the drop-in open gym room with musical instruments, climbing toys, ball pit and more! Check out their site for Character Open Gym too. $10 per session per child, or purchase a whole semester.

Farmington Community Library

The Farmington Community Library designates their entire lower level to kids! There are no specific drop-in times but play to enjoy any time you choose to go. Fun includes a play house and kitchen, sensory toys, baby play space (ages 0-2), interactive and educational videos and more! They also offer several fun and engaging story times!

Natures Playhouse (Ferndale)

777 Livernois St, Ferndale, MI 48220

All ages are welcome on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 12pm. Natures Playhouse offers a non-toxic yesteryear open playtime experience within an all-natural play environment. Enjoy spending time with other families at a relaxed unstructured pace. $15 per child per session.

Recreation Authority of Roseville & Easpointe

Open-play at the RARE Indoor Park includes climbers, slides. bikes, wagons, scooters and much more– in a safe, dry environment. Parents are required to supervise their own children. there is no instructor for this drop-in program. $2 per child per session.

Sterling Heights Community Center

40250 Dodge Park Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48313

“Indoor Adventures” is offered Monday and Thursday from 9am to 11am for ages 10 months to 5 years. Plenty of toys, jungle gym climbing, bounce house and much more! Free for residents, $5 for non residents (per child).

Troy Community Center

3179 Livernois Rd, Troy, MI 48083

Drop-in on Tuesdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm for kids up to age 5. Stop in to work on gross motor and socialization skills, while burning off energy. The gym will have a variety of age-appropriate toys to ride, push, or explore. $10 for resident, $15 for non-residents (per child).

West Bloomfield Township Public Library 

4600 Walnut Lake Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48323

There is no specific drop-in play here but there is plenty of fun to be had any time you visit! Toddlers will enjoy a lego table, train table, play kitchen, puppet theater and plenty of toys that can be checked out one at a time (no need for a library card). You can’t miss the children’s section – walk through a colorful portal with glass tiles to enter!
