Family Movie Night! We’ll be showing Apple TV’s animated feature “Luck” in our theatre. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the movie will start at 6:45 pm. Popcorn will be provided! Members participate for free. Non-members are welcome for a nominal fee.

You won’t want to miss this one of a kind experience that your child will never forget. Our realistic walking dinosaur will be making an appearance at the Fairytale Fun Place. Your children will meet Rexxie, our walking T-Rex dinosaur, they will also visit with our baby Triceratops, Sara, and they’ll examine really old relics that have been unearthed from ages ago.

Join the Kris Johnson Group for a fun morning of music where you and your kids can learn about the foundation of Detroit music: GROOVE. From swing, and blues to Motown and hip-hop, “What is Groove?” will get the audience to feel the beat in a whole new way. Led by trumpeter Kris Johnson, this presentation will introduce you to the role of various instruments in a band and how they work together to make music.
DSO Family Concert: Peter and The Wolf

“Boys like Peter are not afraid of wolves…” Prokofiev’s timeless tale of boy vs. wolf comes to life in Really Inventive Stuff’s signature performance. Run For Gold 5k & Kids Fun Run + Parade
- When: Saturday, 10am to 12pm
- Where: Pickney
The 5K will begin at 10:00 am followed by the Kids Run at 11:00 am. Awards will be given at 11:30 and the Pinckney St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration kicks off shortly thereafter. Parade begins (starting at People’s Church and will head east on M36 through downtown Pinckney and around the Town Square). After the parade the pipe bands will gather in the town square and play some of their favorites.

Giant Screen Experience – Paw Patrol: The Movie

The Giant Screen Experience will offer special screenings of the Paw Patrol movies on March 16th at 2pm. You can also explore the museum and check out the new traveling Paw Patrol Adventure Play exhibit.
Leprechaun Day @ Canterbury Village
- When: Saturday, 11am to 5pm
- Where: Canterbury Village, Lake Orion
Those tricky leprechauns are headed back to Canterbury Village for our yearly St. Patrick’s Day celebration! They’ll be scattering their lucky coins all over the grounds and as usual we need help finding them! Explore the village and collect up to 10 coins. Bring them back to participating shops for a prize. there will also be bounce houses, magic shows and Irish dancers.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Royal Oak)

- Where: Downtown Royal Oak
Parade starts at Royal Oak Middle School at 12pm. It’ll travel south on Washington Ave, then westbound on West 7th street. Don’t be green with envy. Deck your kids, your pets, your bicycles and wagons in everything green and join us for a family-filled celebration of Irish tradition!
Maple Sugaring: Sap Happy Event

- Where: Johnson Nature Center, Bloomfield Hills
Join us this maple sugaring season for a tour of our Sugarbush! Discover how to identify and tap the perfect sugar maple tree and enjoy the sights, smells, and tastes of the sweet syrup-making process in our Sugar Shack and Log Cabin. Self-guided tours begin every half hour from 9:30a – 2:30p with numerous activities available at your own pace.

Plan on taking a hike through the sugar bush of the Stage Nature Center on one of these three days! Discover how maple trees make sugar and people harvest it. This family-friendly program highlights natural and local history of our region. Tour includes activities to learn more about syrup making.

Easter visits on the farm will be weather permitting. Easter eggs will be hidden daily, each child can find 7 eggs. Visit with the Spring babies, and enjoy the farm (you may need boots). The Easter bunny will be roaming the farm as well.

Take a short journey to our Sugarbush and experience how maple syrup has been made over the years. Learn how to tap a tree, and then visit the evaporator to see the sap being boiled into syrup. There is no better way to finish out the cold days of winter and get ready for spring.

- Where: Kensington Farm Center, Milford
ake a guided walk through the farm’s Sugar Bush. Learn how to pick the right maple tree, then watch how maple trees are tapped and sap is collected. Stop by the French and Native American camps to hear and see how these techniques have changed through the years. Then visit the Sugar Shack to see and smell the sap being boiled down into maple sugar. Real maple sugar products will be available for purchase at the Farm Center Office. Tours begin every half hour, last approximately one hour and require registration.

This program is entirely outdoors. Most of this 1 hour program will be spent walking. The planned path is dirt and gravel, mostly flat and level. No prior experience is necessary.

This engaging tour begins with a wagon ride to the forested area of Maybury Farm. There you will walk into the sugar bush where you’ll learn the amazing way sugar maple trees produce sap, why sap flows, how to tap and collect sap from the tree. The wagon will then take you to the Sugar Shack where you’ll learn how the sap becomes delicious maple syrup by watching the process in action! You’ll even get to try a sample of the finished product!
St. Patrick’s Day at The Village
- When: Sunday, 12pm to 6:00pm
- Where: The Village of Rochester Hills
The Village of Rochester Hills is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day family-fun outdoor event at Festival Park in The Village for an afternoon of festivities! In addition to the Easter Bunny making his first appearance of the season, guests will be able to enjoy an afternoon of fun with music, outdoor lawn games, and green beer!
Ada Twist, Scientist & Friends
- When: Sunday, 2pm to 3:30pm
- Where: The Michigan Theater, Ann Arbor
A fun musical based on the books Ada Twist, Scientist; Rosie Revere, Engineer; and Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty, which spotlights the STEM curriculum (focusing on science, technology, engineering and math).
