Experience the best of Michigan’s #LakeLife all in one place at Kensington Metropark! Spend the day on the beach, rent a boat to explore the lake and let the kids have a blast at the splash pad and playground.

Put on your suits, pack the sand toys and plenty of snacks for a beach day. Kensingotn Metropark has two beaches. Maple beach is close to the Farm Center and Boat Rental. Find a spot on the sand or grass and let your kids play at the universally accessible playground.

Martindale Beach is located on the other side of the lake and features a playground and Splash’N’Blast splash pad. The splash pad has an entrance fee of $7 per person (unlimited reentry for the day) but it’s worth it for the massive waterslide and the perfect place to rinse off as you hop between the beach, playground and concessions.

Kensingotn offers multiple boat rental options – including timeless favorite character pedal boats. Rent a character ride for $17 an hour or a row boat for $8. Boat rentals are available from 8am to 8pm.

The Kensington Farm Center is the perfect place to take kids who love animals. Open year round (only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas) you can find all your barnyard favorites and often newborn animals too. The farm features cows, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, chickens and more.

Kensington is one of 13 Huron-Clinton Metroparks and you can gain admission to the park with a day pass or annual parks pass ($40). The Annual Pass grants you access to all of the parks and is well worth the cost but if it’s not in your budget, gain FREE admission with the Michigan Activity Pass (learn more about that here).

Kensington Metropark is located at 4570 Huron River Parkway in Milford and open daily from 6am to 10pm. Specific venues like the Farm and Nature Center have their own hours but are FREE with admission.

Kensington Metropark is a favorite but we spend time at all the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Here are others to check out:
